    The ultimate mechanical pencil

I agree, this is the only pencil I've used in about 7 years. I don't order refill cartridges for the lead, I simply buy refill lead and manually refill the cartridge, which holds 12 pieces of lead by itself. The only "flaw" is the eraser - you have to hold the eraser while using it so it doesn't twist and retract back into the pencil. Other than that, the only reason I need refills is to order the erasers. I eventually added a small bit of silicone tape underneath the "comfort grip" since mine had become loose after the years of use - tightened it right back up, no more slippage! This pencil will last a long time and be all you ever need.

Best Pencil I have ever used

As a student, I need a reliable pencil that not only writes well but also lasts a long time. We are in an age where everyone uses mechanical pencils, I need a pencil I can easily load in a short amount of time. I have tried using cheap mechanical pencils but one has stood out to me over them all. The company pentel has made the most convenient pencil ever called the Pentel Quick Dock Mechanical Pencil.
    EASE OF LOADING:
I remember in high school having to carefully take a couple of pieces of lead out of a tiny container and just for them to break before making it to my pencil. Pentel has made a perfect solution to this problem by making a cartridge you just insert into the top with 12 pieces of lead. Not only do you have to not worry about breaking pieces, but in a time of need you can instantly replace the cartridge with another and away you go.
    PRICE:
With other brands of mechanical pencils you have to buy the pencil and the lead which can sometimes cost a lot of money. At this moment Pentel has the quick dock mechanical pencil for under $5 dollars and the lead refill cartridges for under $3.
    DURIBILITY:
I remember in middle school when I got home from school and would throw my backpack in my room, only to find out later that my pencils have broken. The pentel quick dock has never broken when I have thrown my backpack into my room. I have used the same pencil for over 3 years and have never had a jam, or have ever had a crack on the surface of the pen.
    GRIP:
This pencil has a removable grip, so if you have a special grip you have always used you can put that on. The one that comes with the pencil is the best grip I have ever used. It stays in place when I write, doesn’t get yucky looking over the years, and is very comfortable when I write.
    EASE OF WRITING:
Other brands of mechanical pencils have cheap lead that breaks after a short amount of use, or has lead that squeaks as you write. I have had no trouble with lead breaking or the lead squeaking as I write. Overall the Pentel is a really smooth pencil.

    The only pencil I use

Seriously, this is the best mechanical pencil I've come across. I love the cartridge loading, so I don't have to worry about loading lead. It's really convenient.

But, as the other reviewer stated, it's almost to find the refills in stores. Be prepared to order them online. It's totally worth it, though!

    I love this pencil!

This is one of the best pencils available anywhere--very clean, because of the sealed lead compartment, comfortable to hold and extremely reliable. The leads advance with precision and the eraser is sturdy and generously sized. I love the convenient refills which easily pop into place. And all of that for under $5!!

Only problem is that they're hard to find in stores--have to order from the website.
