We’re right in the middle of American Craft Week (Oct. 1-10). Have you made any fun crafts lately? As far as I’m concerned it should be craft week every week between now and the end of the year. We have some big holidays coming up that are prime for creating your own decorations, gifts and costumes. Think of all the handmade objects that will enrich your lives. So, it’s no wonder that we’re so excited about Premiere Week 2010. We’re so happy that we have a contest every day this week in honor of some of our favorite shows returning.
Growing up, one of the worst things was realizing summer was almost over and it was almost time to go back to school. At the same time, one of the best things was realizing that it was time to do some back to school shopping and afterwards getting those supplies ready for the first day of class. I found walking up and down the school supply aisles soothing. It was always fun to check out what new features a mechanical pencil had, what new fun shape erasers I could discover, and to try to find the coolest looking notebook. Although nothing was as good as taking all those supplies to school once all that shopping was done. Now as an adult...
Some might call me old-fashioned. I still like to read a paper newspaper! I like the feel of the paper in my hands and I like to turn real pages. Therefore I don’t have an e-reader. Having said that, I do have a cell phone and will admit that I text and I email. While I enjoy some electronic communication, I do miss the more personal communication of giving and receiving a hand-written note. My school-year resolution is:
